  1. Welcome to the SafenSigned Verifier Version 1.0.
  2.  
  3. This program lets you verify the digital signature in any file signed by the
  4. SafenSigned File Signer to ensure that the file is authentic and has not
  5. been modified in the distribution channel.
  6.  
  7. The easiest way to check a file is to click the right mouse button on the
  8. file icon and select "Verify Signature" in the menu that pops up. You may
  9. also start the Verifier and drag and drop the file into the Verifier window
  10. or use the "File-Check Signature" menu command to open the file. To check a
  11. web page you are viewing with a browser, simply use the "Save As" function
  12. of the browser to save the file into the folder \SNStest\autochk\.

  14. As the first examples of the signed files, you make check the self-extracting
  15. archive of this program (snsvr10.exe) and the web pages at 
  16. http://www.securisys.com/.

  18. After you have checked the file, you may recover the original file signed,
  19. unzip the file (if it is a signed or unsigned ZIP archive), run the file
  20. (if it is an executable file), or open the file with the appropriate 
  21. application, all with one mouse click.

  23. Please remember that this is not a free software.  You are licensed to use 
  24. this software for evaluation purposes without charge for a period of 30 days.
  25. If you use this software after the 30 day evaluation period, a registration 
  26. fee is required. After we receive your registration, we will send you the 
  27. latest registered version of the program with a write-protected floppy disk 
  28. or a CD-ROM. The registration also entitles you one year free upgrade and 
  29. priority in technical support. Please see "Ordering Information" in the help

  32. For your own security, it is extremely important that you get the registered 
  33. version of the Verifier directly from us, instead of relying on this trial 
  34. version distributed over the Internet or other insecure channels. Once you 
  35. get a truly authentic copy of the Verifier directly from us, you may use it 
  36. to check other files (including the File Signer and future versions of the 
  37. Verifier) received from the Internet or other insecure distribution channels 
  38. to ensure that they are authentic and have not been modified.
